Another free knitting pattern for wrist warmers.

Hello everyone,

 November already and we still have lovely sunshine, we are in for a weather change through the coming week but that was going to happen anyway for this time of year. We have been lucky in the North of England now it is time for the scarfs, gloves and wrist warmers. Yes I have finished another pair and I will share the pattern with you.

FREE KNITTING PATTERN for Wrist Warmers.

Materials:- 4mm needles. 

DK yarn about 65g( depending on the length you require).

Stitch pattern:-  Rib, K1, P1. and for main pattern as follows:-
Little Arrows 4 row pattern.
1 Row RS k2, p2, k1, p2, *k3, p2, k1, p2; rep from* to last 2sts, k2.
2 Row P3, k1, p1, k1, *p5, k1, p1, k1; rep from* to last 3sts, p3.
3 Row k1, *P1, k5, p1, k1; rep from * to end.
4 Row P1, *k2, p3, k2, p1; rep from* to end.
Rep these 4 rows which form the main body of wrist warmers.

To Make.
Right and left hand both alike. 
Using 4mm needles cast on 50sts, work in rib, k1, p1, for 2rows.
Next row begin with main stitch pattern as above starting with row 1, RS to row 4. Then repeat a further 17 times till work measures 21cm from beg, ending on row 4 of pattern. Or knit the length longer if you wish.
Next row work in rib pattern k1, p1, for 7 rows then cast off. The finished length for mine was about 24cm.

To finish.
Bring sides together and sew the length of side edges, from cast on edge to cast off edge.

I also started a new crochet project last night using SIRDAR  Crofter DK yarn, this self patterning yarn is working nicely for me.


I am mixing 2 balls of this wool in different shades. Check out more details on this wool at - SIRDAR

Not decided if I will make a cowl or a long scarf but I will share with you when finished.

Free knitting patterns for Wrist warmers and Scarf.

Hello everyone, How are you all? It has been a lovely mild day today here in the UK, I am also off work for a week and plan for a good catch up with knitting projects and some stitching.

I want to thank new followers and all of you who have linked back to my new blog here, much appreciated.

This post has two of my knitting patterns I wrote a couple of years ago and I just wanted to add them back on my blog for you.

SIMPLE KNITTED WRIST WARMERS

Materials - DK yarn MC, 1 x 50g and small amount for CC.
I used SIRDAR SALSA /MERINO WOOL.
4mm needles & embroidery needle.

Stitch pattern- Rib K4, P4, and st,  stitch.
Size- To fit average size adult.

MAKE
Right and left hand both worked in one piece and joined at the sides when finished.
Begin with 4mm needles use CC and cast on 46sts. Start with RS work in rib k4, p4 to last 2sts, p2. Continue 7 more rows and end on WS.
Inc  1 stitch each end, 48sts.
Next break of CC and join MC now continue in st, st, starting with a knit row and continue till work measures 23cm from beg. Or till you have reached the length of your choice.
Next row Dec 1st each end 46sts. Break off MC  and join with CC, the same as the beginning continue in rib k4, p4, for 8 rows. Cast off end with a RS.

NOTE- if you  decide to make the length of your wrist warmers longer then stated, you will need and extra ball of yarn.
To finish join sides and sew, secure ends and decorate as you wish, or as in the picture using a few embroidery stitches.

KNITTED SCARF PATTERN

Materials- 2 x 50g balls of SIRDAR CLICK CHUNKY.
5.5mm needles
8 Pom Poms to decorate.

Stitch pattern- Lace rib pattern as folls:-
Row 1 (k2tog, yo, k3) rep across.
Row 2 (p1, p2tog, yo, p2) rep across.
Rows 1 & 2 form pattern.

MAKE
Cast on 27sts, k1 st at beg and last st k.
Next continue in Lace rib pattern throughout till desired length. 
When finished select a different colour of yarn if desired to add a neat edge to your scarf by using a crochet hook (4mm), and work in Double crochet around the sides. Then make 8 Pom Poms for decoration.
