Finished crochet cowl, knitted chicks for charity and new yarn in my stash.

Hi everyone, Hope you are all well?

We are having lovely mild weather on and off here in my part of the UK, lot's of rain mixed with sunshine.

I have been busy crocheting a lovely warm cowl for my friend at work,

the pattern was from Inside Crochet magazine Dunes Cowl. I did not use the recommended yarn as on the pattern my friend already purchased the yarn.

I have not crossed stitched much of my owl pattern lately since I seem to have knitting projects piling up so there is not much progress to show you at the moment. I intend to save a few hours to stitch at some point.

At my local knitting group we are in the middle of knitting or crocheting small chicks, they are just the right size to fit a cream egg inside.

I have knitted about 14 so far and other members have made similar amounts, all these will be going off to St Lukes Cheshire Hospice where they sell them at there charity stalls to raise funds.

Within our group we take some of our sub money to put towards funds every week and so far we have raised £700 pounds. It is so much fun when you have others to share with what you are making.

Also I have some lovely yummy new yarn to show for new projects.

This jester DK yarn will be for  a cushion for my Grand daughter.

One 100g skein of hand dyed yarn 4ply weight this will be for a pair of socks.
You can find more of similar yarn at Betsy Makes etsy shop

So I think I will be pretty busy for the coming weeks that is something to look forward too, I think I had better knit the cushion first though.

Till next time
I hope you all have a lovely weekend, and find a little time to make something.

bye for now

Knitting updates, cross stitch updates and general chit chat.

Hi everyone,
Hope you are all well and keeping snug and warm, it is a cold and grey day here in the UK we have had a few snow flurries but it has not progressed to much(thankfully) I feel my Grand daughter would love for it to snow a little heavier.

I have made some progress on sock knitting, a little slow granted but i did undo a little and then started again but never the less I am enjoying the process.

I have nearly finished a pair of knitted house slippers,

this all started through watching a Pod Cast (i am addicted to these) by Tina at Simply In Stitches on You Tube she was holding a KAL for these slippers. I know the picture dose not do them justice but I assure you they look lovely on with a nice snug fit.

The pattern is free from Temple Of Knit
the yarn I used was Pure Shetland Wool from Blacker Yarns it knits as DK

I have a cross stitch update for the Owl Bell Pull

not much I know as I had a few other projects to do one being a crochet cowl for a friend at work so I had to squeeze it in, I will show you in the next post when it's finished. But as you can see I think the colours for the flowers are going to look lovely when they are all stitched and then I will start on the owl.

I am sure I will have more to show you next time, so till then enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Happy stitching or knitting/crochet

Finished Dogs Leave Paw Prints cross stitch and Autumn house pattern is framed.

Hello everyone,

Hope you are all well and looking forward to your Christmas break, I know I am as today is my last day at work and I could do with catching my breath and relaxing.

I wanted to do a quick update and show you the finished Dogs leave Paw Prints cross stitch.

This pattern is by Lizzie Kate designs

stitched on evenweave, I purchased the pattern from Fobbles and it comes complete with the dog bone gem, this is hanging on my kitchen wall.

At last I found a suitable frame for the finished Autumn cross stitch

you can find this pattern purchased as a download at Tinymodernist

I have not quite finished the Ship Ahoy pattern you may remember reading in previous posts, but here is an update so far,

i should have no excuse to finish this one over the holidays and I will post a picture as soon as I have.

Before I go here is a crochet project that I had been asked to make by a friend at work, her Grand son wanted the Kevin the carrot toy that had been showing in an advert on the TV and all had been sold out. So she asked would I be able to make one, well I managed it and here is my version.

What do you think? I am told he loves it.

Well that's all for now, have an enjoyable day.

bye for now

Autumn cross stitch update and knitted owls.

Hi everyone,

Well here we are and November is upon us the weather here in the UK is sunny and mild but I believe temperature's are going to drop near the end of the week.

With all the lovely Autumn colours around now the leaves are falling I have made progress with the Autumn cross stitch I started.

I just love the colours for this one, pattern is from Tiny Modernist

The progress on the ship ahoy pattern is coming along to I will show you pictures of that quite soon.

I have been shopping in our local charity store and what did i find, more cross stitch patterns,

I could not resit they were such a bargain £2.00 for three magazines,

and these three were  50p each (single patterns) well that's another lot to add to my stash.

Did I mention that I was knitting two owls for my friend at work well I have finished them and just in time for Christmas too, that is good going for me.

Yarn used is King Cole Tinsel chunky, knitted on 5mm needles and scraps of DK yarn for the face and claws.
You can find details for this yarn at KingCole

Well that's all for now, have a lovely weekend.
